Marinade for Grilling

½ c          soy sauce

¼ c          vinegar (use apple cider vinegar)

2 Tblsp    brown sugar (Honey can work, too.  Use a little less.)

2 Tblsp    minced onion (you can use dried minced onion to make it easier)

1               garlic clove, minced

1 Tblsp    vegetable or olive oil

½ tsp       ginger (buy fresh ginger root, peel it and grate it)

1/8 tsp    pepper

1               lemon, juiced

  • Combine in a bowl and stir well together.
  • Place chicken in gallon ziplock bags.  Pour enough marinade in to cover pieces well.
  • Place bags on cookie sheet and put in the frig to marinate overnight (marinate at least 4 hours).
  • Turn bags periodically to ensure marinade covers the chicken.
  • While grilling, you can baste the meat with the marinade.

This marinade can be used for chicken, pork, and beef.

*if you don’t like vinegar (although this is a great “tenderizer”), use Worcestershire sauce instead.  I actually prefer this with beef or pork.
